Dawn Joseph, LCSW-C
Research shows that positive relationships are beneficial to health and contribute to happier living. For over 20 years I have enjoyed working with adults of diverse backgrounds and sexual orientations who are seeking to establish or improve supportive relationships in their personal lives and/or in the workplace.
My areas of interest include treating depression, anxiety and anger awareness. In addition, I have a background in management and training which guides my support for employees/employers struggling/stressed in the workplace. I have over 12 years of experience working with law enforcement officials. My approach is based on the needs and goals identified by each client. Throughout the various stages of treatment, clients will be able to review progress, and use enhanced coping skills and self-awareness to prevent setbacks. I have advanced training in the treatment of adults and adolescents from the Baltimore Psychotherapy Institute. I have extensive training in Emotionally Focused Therapy, a cutting-edge model that has proven to be highly effective in treating couples. While I am no longer working with couples, I use the techniques to assist individuals who may be experiencing challenges in a partnership. Feel free to ask me about the Internal Family Systems model, which has been useful in treating anxiety, depression and trauma related issues.
